…A**holes: Everybody’s Got One and They All Stink!

A short time ago, I was approached on our Instagram account by a young college student somewhere in Canada.

What follows is our correspondence, with expanded notes by our Editor for purposes of this article — and perhaps, to further this young individual’s education.

She starts —

“Hey there!”

[Editor’s note: When soliciting a professional opinion from someone you deem an “expert” in whatever field you’re writing about, it’s always polite, customary and appropriate to begin your salutation with that person’s first name, at the very least.]

“This is [name withheld] from the Instagram inquiry about your thoughts on celebrity tequila brands.

“I am a journalism student who specializes in arts and entertainment.”

[Editor’s note: This is a wide ranging field, from the New York Post Page Six, to the Hollywood Reporter, to — gawd forbid! — TMZ.]

“This article is for a course I am part of so it won’t be published anywhere but is for academic purposes.”
